Installation
This menu appears when you run the setup file - DaminionSetup.exe. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note:
All currently supported versions of Daminion and Daminion Server are 32-bit applications. This means that Daminion when installed on x64 based systems will install by default to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Daminion Software"folder
System Requirements
Daminion
- Windows 2000, XP, 2003 or 2008 Server, Vista, Seven
- At least Pentium III - 700 MHz processor; 1.0 GHz recommended
- At least 256MB of RAM; 512 MB recommended
- 100 MB of disk space (additional space required for media files)
- 4x CD-ROM drive required for CD installs
- Display optimized for 1024 x 768 screen resolution or higher
- NET Framework Version 2.0. If you do not have this installed, Daminion Installation prompts to install it for you
Quick Start
That the best way to begin working with the program is using Startup Wizard to create a new
catalog and import the existing files from the disk.
To quick start using startup wizard, follow these steps –
1. From the Help menu, choose startup wizard.
2. You will be prompted with a Import Files Wizard.
3. Specify the location for the new catalog and choose how you wish to import the media files.
At present, you can import files from Files and Folders or Picajet 2.x Album.
4. Click Next and choose the file(s), folders, or drives to import media from. Click Import to
finish the wizard and get started.

You can also create or open the catalogs manually by creating a new manual or opening existing
from the file menu.
After opening or creating a new catalog, the next step is to import media files to the open catalog.
Daminion gives you the flexibility to add media files by dragging and dropping the files, folders, or hard drive to the existing catalog. You can also import files using the
function to quickly
add media files. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+I or choose File menu and Import files to
import media to a catalog.
You can also import your image archive from other media management systems like Picajet by clicking File menu and Import from function.

Updating Daminion
You can check for updates to Daminion by selecting Check for Updates Online in the Help menu. If an update is available, you will be notified to download it
