The product team really listen to their customers. I started using Daminion since its early stages back in 2011. From the beginning, the product team has always been opened to suggestions and feature requests. I think that is one of the best features of the Daminion business approach.
On the other side, the software is just amazing. High quality development makes it affordable to use with large collections without needing big hardware requirements. I’ve tested it with large media collections (more than 1 million items) on a normal PC and it responds smoothly.
Other thing I like a lot is that it uses a robust DBMS (PostgreSQL). That makes feasible to integrate with other systems/tools without too much trouble if you know a little bit of codig. NOTE: Daminion doesn’t recommend directly modifiying the database, but in my case I’ve found it pretty useful (and I try to be careful to not break anything).
