What’s New with Daminion DAM?

New Features Overview

This update introduces new languages, improved AI capabilities including AI tagging for video files, image crops, a redesigned Adobe plugin, native CDR thumbnails, Web Client performance optimizations, updated services and platform components, and many stability improvements across Web and Desktop.

🌍 New Languages

Daminion now supports additional interface languages:

• Simplified Chinese
• Traditional Chinese

We also improved translation quality across the system.

🤖 AI Improvements

• New GPT Models (GPT-5, GPT-5 mini, and GPT-5 nano) have been added;
• AI translations now support all languages available in ChatGPT, including Turkish, Chinese, and many others;
• Added AI tagging for video files;
• Added AI tagging progress indication.

🌐 Web Updates

• A new Dashboard provides a clearer overview of your catalog;
• Files marked as offline will still display their generated preview in the web interface;
• The DateTime component now supports minutes;
• Optimized scrolling performance in the Web Client;
• Reduced Web Client memory consumption;
• Fixed Access Control group editing (users not displayed);
• Fixed drag and drop issues in Safari;
• Fixed Dropbox import;
• Fixed an issue with saving mappings on macOS;
• The interface now locks correctly when the license expires;

🖥 Desktop Improvements

• Fixed import from connected devices (WIA);
• Fixed CSV tag import;
• Fixed an export issue where transparent images (SVG, PNG, WEBP) produced incorrect backgrounds when converted to JPEG;
• Fixed a login issue for Lite licenses.

🎨 Adobe Plugin Improvements

• Completely updated design;
• Improved thumbnail browser and filter panel;
• Fixed the Back button on the start screen;
• Fixed selection reset during scrolling;
• Added Adobe plugin notarization, eliminating macOS security warnings during installation.

🎬 Video Processing

• Video processing now runs as a single service for all catalogs;
• Added optional WebM proxy support;
• Updated to a newer technology platform.

🛠 Other Improvements

• Updated Daminion services and platform components;
• Updated from .NET 8 to .NET 10;
• Added support for native thumbnails of CorelDRAW CDR files;
• Duplicate users in Access Control are now automatically removed during database optimization;
• Fixed an issue where enabling Folder Security could fail in some cases;
• Sidecar thumbnails are now displayed correctly;
• Fixed a memory leak in the 3D Agent;
• 3D previews are now stored using a safer storage scheme, preventing access errors that occurred when previews were saved next to the original files;
• Manual 3D thumbnail generation is now processed entirely on the server;
• Temporary files are no longer saved next to the original files.

⚠️ Important Note for Microsoft Entra Login

If your Daminion installation uses the Microsoft Entra login scheme, you need to update the Redirect URI in the Microsoft Entra admin center by adding /signin-oidc to it.
