Since 1993, Global Greengrants Fund has supported grassroots-led efforts to protect the planet and defend human rights. The foundation provides small grants to community-based environmental groups around the world, focusing on sustainability, conservation, and environmental justice.

Before Daminion: Growing Media Archives and Difficult Searches
For years, Global Greengrants Fund relied on a local server to store and manage its digital assets. As the organization grew, so did the database — eventually becoming unmanageable.
The communications team, which frequently needed visuals for reports, campaigns, and publications, spent hours searching for images across disorganized folders.
Poor asset management led to frustration, delays, and inefficiency across departments.

We have a lot of people traveling and taking pictures from different projects we’ve worked on. All these media files were just uploaded and stored on our server — which was not the most efficient way to handle it, especially when trying to find a particular image.

Global Greengrants Fund implemented Daminion to organize its extensive media archive and simplify day-to-day operations. The communications team now uses Daminion to quickly find, categorize, and share high-quality visuals for internal and external use.
