Global Greengrants Fund is a charitable foundation that makes small grants to grassroots environmental causes around the world. These funds are used to support community-based groups outside the United States and Western Europe working on issues of environmental justice, sustainability, and conservation.
Global Greengrants Fund is the only organization in the world that places trust and decision-making power directly in the hands of communities to protect and restore their own land, biodiversity, water, and the health of their families. We listen to community needs and then invest in locally-led action to monitor polluters and demand the cleanup of toxins and waste, revive critical habitats, and protect air and watersheds for future generations.
The Problem
Global Greengrants Fund had been using their local server to
store and manage all of their digital assets for a very long
time, but as the size of the database grew it became
unmanageable. Poor asset management led to frustration
among employees as it forced them to be spending hours to
simply find the desired image.
We have a lot of people traveling, taking pictures and also we
have a lot of images from different projects we have worked on.
So, all these media files were just uploaded and originally stored
on our server, which is not the most efficient way to handle it,
especially when trying to find a particular image.
How Daminion Helped Us
As Global Greengrants Fund needed to organize their archive to optimize their working processes, they were delighted to have a smart navigation system in place.
