The Institute of Tropical Medicine has 3 science departments:
Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Sciences and Public Health, doing research on the level of respectively pathogens, patients and populations, and the interfaces. The ITM operates a specialized outpatient clinic and various support services and employs over 400 staff.
We used to have a different software which wasn’t as
user-friendly as Daminion. Using Daminion helps us to be more efficient in working with images and saves a lot of time because we can have everything in one place now. Daminion is a step forward for us from what we had and we are convinced it is a great solution
The Problem
Before Daminion the ITM had a different DAM software which
they wanted to shift away from because it wasn’t compatible
with their needs. The team was very reluctant to use it as it
wasn’t user-friendly and external agents couldn’t contribute to
the database which was a major hurdle.
This is when they started to search for a new solution and
decided to go for Daminion because it offered a collaborative
working structure which was highly important for their team.
How Daminion Helped Us
The ITM has a large collection of images which needed to be categorized and made accessible to internal and external team members. Daminion helped them to organize their assets, improve team collaboration and reduce turnaround time.
“We have a huge collection of images on our servers and we need a centralized library to store and categorize these files in a structured way, as we work with visuals daily. We need to be able to find files on the go to have a quick turnaround which is crucial when working in comms.”
