Access to Add-ons
Description:
This functionality controls access to Daminion add-ons. It seems that only the Actions menu for media items is disabled when access is revoked.
Desktop:
When access is revoked, the “Actions” option in the context menu of media items is disabled.
Add/Remove Items to/from Favorites
Description:
This functionality allows users to add files to the Favorites list.
Desktop:
The “Window > Favorites” menu option is unavailable. Right-clicking on a file does not display the “Add to Favorites” or “Remove from Favorites” options. The green icon and border indicating favorites are also missing from thumbnails.
Web:
The heart icon for adding to favorites is missing from thumbnails. The list of files already added to favorites remains accessible. The “Clear” button in the favorites section clears the list.
Assign or Remove Tags
Description:
This functionality allows the assignment or removal of tags.
Desktop:
It is not possible to assign tags through the tag tree or the properties panel.
Right-clicking on a file disables the following menu options:
- Set Rating
- Set Flag
Actions:

- Copy Previous Set of Tags
- Paste Tags
- Read Tags from File
- Write Tags to File
- Rotate
- Generate AI Labels/AI Objects
- Clear Information About Faces and Process Again

The following options are unavailable in the panel menu:
Tag Presets

- Assigning tag presets during import is not accessible.
The following options are unavailable in the “File > Import” menu:
- CSV File
- Canto
In full-screen mode, the “Set Rating” option is not active, and the options for “Set Flag” and the face icon are missing.
Web:
- Tags cannot be assigned by dragging them into the tag tree.
- The kebab menu for a media item is missing the “Edit Tags,” “Share,” and “Get an Embed Link” options.
When selecting a file, the following options are missing from the kebab menu:
- Edit Tags
- Generate AI Labels
- Share
- Tags become read-only in the properties panel.
- The option for tag presets during import is missing, and files are immediately imported into the catalog.
- It is not possible to drag and drop a file onto a map for geotagging.
Search for Duplicates
Description:
This functionality enables users to search for duplicate files within the catalog.
Desktop:
The “Find Duplicates” option is unavailable in the “Catalogs” menu.
Can Select Multiple Items in Web Client
Description:
This functionality allows users to select multiple files in the web client.
Desktop:
The “Export” button on the main screen is inactive.
Web:
It is not possible to select multiple files, therefore the menu options for “Export PDF” and “Generate AI Tags” are not available.
Clear Information about Faces
Description:
This feature allows users to clear information about faces detected in the files.
Desktop:
- Right-clicking on a file and accessing the “Actions” menu does not display the option to clear information about faces and process again.
- In full-screen mode, clicking on the face icon and then selecting the option to clear information about faces and process again triggers a warning message indicating the insufficient permissions.

Commenting Assets
Description:
This functionality allows users to comment on assets.
Web:
The commenting functionality is missing in full-screen mode. If a user is mentioned in a comment using “@,” they will receive a notification about the comment.
However, when trying to access the comment, a warning will be displayed stating that they don’t have the necessary permissions.
Compare Items
Description:
This functionality allows users to compare images.
Desktop:
The “Item > Compare Items” menu option is unavailable when selecting two or more files.
Copy Files to Clipboard
Description:
This functionality allows users to copy files to the clipboard.
Desktop:
The keyboard shortcuts CTRL+C and CTRL+V do not work.
The following menu options are blocked:
- Edit > Copy Names with Full Path
- The keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+C
- Edit > Copy
Delete Items
Description:
This functionality allows the deletion of files from the catalog.
Desktop:
- Right-clicking on a media item does not display the “Remove from Catalog” option in the context menu.
- The “Remove from Catalog” option is unavailable in the “Edit” menu.
- The keyboard shortcut “Delete” (del) does not work.
Web:
The kebab menu for a media item does not have a “Delete” option. When selecting multiple files, the “Delete” option is missing from the kebab menu.
Download Original Files
Description:
This functionality allows users to download the original files in the web interface.
Web:
- The kebab menu for a media item is missing the “Download” option under “Download Original Files.”
- The “Download as Zip” function is missing in the “Folder” tag.
Edit Item Usage Info
Description:
This functionality allows the editing of information about the usage of files.
Desktop:
Right-clicking on a media item displays the “Actions” menu, but the following options are blocked:
- Add Usage Information
- Usage History
Edit Locked Tags
Description:
This feature allows users to edit, create, and delete locked tags. Locked tags are tags that have restrictions applied to them, but users with the appropriate permissions can still modify their values.
Desktop:
If a tag is added to the locked tags (indicated by “Locked” in parentheses), users with the necessary permissions can edit, create, and delete its values.

Group Items
Description:
This functionality allows the grouping of files.
Desktop:
Right-clicking on a media item does not display the “Grouping” menu option. The “Grouping” option is also missing from the “Item” menu.
Link Items
Description:
This functionality allows linking of items.
Desktop:
Right-clicking on a media item and accessing the “Actions” menu does not activate the “Relink Item” option.
Locate File in Windows Explorer
Description:
This functionality allows users to open files in Windows Explorer.
Desktop:
Right-clicking on a media item and accessing the “Item” menu does not activate the “Locate in Explorer” option.
Notes:
If the “Folders – Rename/Move Folders” permission is active, it is possible to open the folder containing the file using the “Folders” tag.
Manage Linking Files
Description:
This functionality allows the linking of files within the catalog.
Desktop:
Right-clicking on a media item and accessing the “Item” and “Window” menus does not activate the “Linking” option.
Web:
The kebab menu for a media item does not have a “Linking” option. It is not possible to view which files are linked.

Description:
This functionality allows users to open files with external applications.
Desktop:
Right-clicking on a media item and accessing the “Item” menu does not activate the “Open With” option.
Web:
The kebab menu for a media item, both in the thumbnail and full-screen view, does not have an “Open With” or “Copy File Path” option.
Print Files
Description:
This functionality allows users to print files in the desktop version.
Desktop:
The “File > Print” menu option is unavailable.
Rename Files
Description:
This functionality allows users to rename files.
Desktop:
The “Rename” and “Batch Rename (Move)” options in the “Edit” menu are inactive.
Web:
The kebab menu for a media item in the thumbnail view does not have a “Rename” option.
Undo Checkout Made by Other Users
Description:
This functionality allows users to undo a file checkout made by another user.
Desktop:
For a file in the “Checked Out” status by another user, right-clicking on the media item and accessing the “Item” menu displays the “Undo” option.
If the user does not have the necessary permissions, the option becomes unavailable.
Web:
For a file in the “Checked Out” status by another user, if the user has the necessary permissions, the “Undo” option is available in the kebab menu under “Versions.”
Even if the user does not have version control permissions, the option remains accessible
Update Thumbnails
Description:
This functionality allows users to update file thumbnails.
Desktop:
Right-clicking on a media item and accessing the “Item” menu does not activate the “Update Thumbnail” option.
Versions
Description:
This functionality allows the use of version control.
Desktop:
Right-clicking on a media item and accessing the “Item” and “Window” menus does not activate the “Versions” option.
Web:
In the kebab menu for a media item in the thumbnail view, the versioning options are inactive. In the full-screen view, the kebab menu does not have a “Versions” option.
View All Metadata
Description:
This functionality allows users to view all metadata associated with a file.
Desktop:
Right-clicking on a media item and accessing the “Item > Actions” menu does not activate the “Show All Metadata” option.
