Feature Information

As your catalog grows in the number of files and metadata, search performance can become a bottleneck. This is especially noticeable in catalogs with 500k files or more. To address this issue, you need to enable full-text indexing for tags. Once activated, the tags will be indexed, significantly improving search speed.

Enabling Full-Text Indexing

To enable full-text indexing, follow these steps:

  1. Open the desktop application and navigate to Catalog > Advanced Settings > Full Text Indexing Options.

Activation Process

Initial Activation
Upon first use, you will be prompted to activate indexing for tags used in quick searches. This is a mandatory step.

Customizing Indexing
You can either confirm the default settings or select additional tags for indexing. Note that quick searches operate on a predefined list of tags, so enabling indexing for other tags is optional.

Indexing Process

After clicking OK, the indexing process will begin. Depending on the size of your database, this may take several minutes. Once completed, all new tag values will be indexed automatically during their addition.

Custom Tags

When creating a new custom tag, ensure indexing is enabled for it. If indexing is not activated, the search will fall back to the older algorithm, which is slower.
